On June 12, 2025, the 12th edition of the Young Biologists’ Days mini-symposium took place at the Centre of Biosciences SAS, organized by colleagues from the Institute of Animal Biochemistry and Genetics.
The event was held in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, where PhD students presented their scientific results to each other and to a panel of expert judges. The jury selected the best talk in each section – not an easy task, as all presentations were well-prepared, informative, and of high quality.
Participants also evaluated one another’s work, allowing for the awarding of the Audience Prize.
We warmly congratulate all the winners!
We are especially proud of our PhD student Mgr. Marek Lúčan, who won the Microbiology and Biotechnology section with his contribution:
„Targeting of post-squalene steps of ergosterol biosynthetic pathway to boost squalene accumulation in Rhodotorula toruloides.”
