On February 27, 2019, the Science Slam of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) took place in Nova Cvernovka, Bratislava. In the evening, 5 SAS young scientists introduced themselves, explaining to the public why ‘there is no science to understand science’. Science Slam SAS is a part of other popularizing activities among of SAS environment.
During the Science Slam SAS, they introduced: Kamila Urban from the Institute of Social Communication Research addressed the topic – Who directs our teaching?. Martin Plavala from the Mathematical Institute answered the question – What do quantum computers and human thinking have in common?. Jana Brndiarová from the Institute of Electrical Engineering explained – What is the thinnest material in the world? Filip Kvetoň from the Institute of Chemistry has prepared a speech entitled – Can sugar save lives and reveal major diseases?. And Mária Kováčová from the Institute of Polymers explained – How can anything destroy bacteria just by touch?
