In November 2019, long-term cooperation between our institute and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science of the University of Poznan in Poland resulted in the signing of the “Memorandum of Understanding and Collaboration Supporting Research on the Physiology of the Ruminant Digestive Tract” signed by the Dean of the Faculty Dr hab. Piotr Ślósarz and prof. DVM. Štefan Faix, DrSc., Head of the Institute of Animal Physiology of the Center of Biological Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Košice. The meeting in Košice was in a warm and friendly spirit with the participation of Vice-Dean Prof. Dr. Malgorzata Szumacher-Strabel and vice-dean MVDr. Jan Wlodarek, Ph.D. from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Poznan, prof. Dr. Adam Cieslak from the Department of Animal Nutrition of the University of Poznan, MVDr. Maciej Gogulski, Director of University Center of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Poznan, MVDr. Dušan Fabian, DrSc., Deputy Head of the Institute of Animal Physiology of the Center of Biological Sciences, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Košice, MVDr. Zora Váradyová, PhD., from the Department of Digestive Tract Physiology of the IAP CB SAS, and doc. DVM. Marian Várady, DrSc., from the Institute of Parasitology of SAS. The cooperation so far has been reflected in dozen of joint scientific publications and exchanges of staff on both sides. The Memorandum aims to deepen and streamline research and academic cooperation, which will consist of carrying out joint research, organizing bilateral seminars, exchanging experts, Ph.D. students, and post-doctoral students, and publishing joint research results.
