From 15.08.2024 to 18.08.2024 the 49th International Agricultural and Food Exhibition Agrokomplex was held at the exhibition centre in Nitra. The Centre of Biosciences SAS was represented by the Institute of Animal Physiology.
Colleagues from Košice prepared models of the digestive systems of ruminants for visitors from the general public, where they described the processes associated with the physiology of digestion of polygasters and monogastrics, including humans, and their differences, or typical characteristics to the young and the old alike. Interested visitors who stopped by our exhibition stand could also see various feeds and feed additives used or developed in cooperation with the Institute of Animal Physiology, e.g. probiotics for rabbits or dogs. An interesting mini-exhibition consisted of models of the development of a bee or a bee hive, and the really brave had the opportunity to try on a bee suit. For the veterinary or livestock nutrition professional public, colleagues presented the outputs of experiments in the form of scientific publications or posters, where they could observe the effect of compound feed additions or modification of feeding regimes on the performance or health of livestock. The prepared exhibits attracted visitors to the exhibition, especially the opportunity to interact with them. The colleagues from the Institute of Animal Physiology themselves evaluate the progress of the exhibition positively and are looking forward to further popularization activities.
