SAS awarded top publications

On Monday, 18.9.2023, the members of the Presidium of the Slovak Academy of Sciences presented the authors of scientific publications with the Slovak Academy of Sciences Prizes for the top publications of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. Last year was a very successful year for the Centre of Biosciences in terms of publications, as among the 29 awarded publications there were 3 from our Centre.

In the category of Top Journal Publications the award went to:

  • Ing. Kristína Šimoničová, Ing. Ľuboš Janotka, PhD., Ing. Helena Kavcová, Ing. Zdena Sulová, DrSc., prof. Ing. Albert Breier, DrSc., Mgr. Lucia Messingerová, PhD., DrSc., from the Institute of Molecular Physiology and Genetics, Centre of Biosciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, v. v. i., for the publication entitled “Different mechanisms of drug resistance to hypomethylating agents in the treatment of myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid leukemia” published in Drug Resistance Updates

In the category of Nature Index publications the following were awarded:

  • RNDr.Lenka Bábelová, PhD., Mgr. Martin Valachovič, PhD., Mgr. Mária Balážová, PhD., Mgr. Paulína Káňovičová, Mgr. Dominika Kubalová rom the Institute of Animal Biochemistry and Genetics, Centre of Biosciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, v. v. i., for the publication entitled “Blocking phosphatidylglycerol degradation in yeast defective in cardiolipin remodeling results in a new model of the Barth syndrome cellular phenotype” published in v Journal of Biological Chemistry.
  • MUDr. Daniil Grinchii, PhD., Khoury Talah, Dr. Dekhtiarenko Roman, MSc.  Bervanlou Reyhaneh Nejati, prof. PharmDr. Daniela Ježová, DrSc., MedSc Eliyahu Dremencov, DrSc., from the Institute of Molecular Physiology and Genetics, Centre of Biosciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, v. v. i., and from the Institute of Experimental Endocrinology BMC SAS, v. v. i., for the publication entitled „Effects of acute and chronic administration of trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1) ligands on in vivo excitability of central monoamine-secreting neurons in rats“ publikovanej v Molecular Psychiatry.
